We heart untitled J.J. Abrams film

During the coming attractions before the film Transformers, there was a teaser of new J.J. Abrams film. The teaser did not give a name only that it was a J.J. Abrams film, the release date is 1-18-08, and it is a post apocolyptic movie of some sort taking place in NYC.

Here are a few references to the film:
Wikipedia - Cloverfield
IMDB - Untitled J.J. Abrams

and a few websites that seem to be related to the film:

We heart Bumbershot

Anyone going to Bumbershoot this year? Sunday lineup is starting to look good to me with Stella (comedy), BRMC, Kings of Leon, Art Brut, Apples in Stereo, and Seaweed?!? I lost one of my sneakers (Vans) at the at a Seaweed concert during the 1995 Bumbershoot festival (luckily my friend Josh had an extra pair of shoes in his truck, otherwise my toes would have gotten stomped on during The Ramones)... so if you go see Seaweed be sure to tie your shoes if you mosh!

We heart Ivars

Ivars Salmon House is definitily has one of my favorite happy hours in the city. Not only are the prices and food decent, there is also deck seating at one of the best outdoor seating venues in the city.

We heart 4th of July

Instead of trying to drive somewhere this holiday and be stuck in traffic for hours, we elected to stay home and walk down to Lake Union where we were able to watch the WaMu firework display. We were able to find a very small public park where we were able to watch the fireworks with only a handful of other people around.

We heart Nintendo DS

Nerd Alert!

Bridget bought be a Nintendo DS for my birthday about a month ago. However, I have been busy and only started playing the games today. My friend Jesse loaded a bunch of games on the system for me, so I am set for a while. Bridget also has a DS. She uses it to play Pokemon for work. I think she bought one for me so she wouldn't be a nerd by herself.
Nintendogs anyone?

We heart Portland

We were able to spend Saturday and Sunday in Portland this past weekend. The weather was absolutely gorgeous!

This time we met with several friends (and friends of friends) who came from Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and L.A. and basically took over the back patio of a bar/restaurant in NW Portland called the New Old Lompoc (they get together and do this once a year, usually in San Francisco). The idea being they scout out a location and decide to stay there from the time the venue opens in the afternoon at 11 am, until it closes at 2am. Bridget and I did not stay the entire time, but there were several troopers who did.

We stayed at the Jupiter, which I would not recommend on a hot summer night (our room was stuffy and had poor air conditioning), however the place itself is fun. The property is a bar/restaurant/hotel/venue. It is much like a McMenamins property, but for hipsters.

I always have a great time going to all the quirky restaurants and shops in Portland. I can’t wait to go down again later this month for the Decemberists.

We heart Transformers

My Transformers review:
Starts out good but soon transforms into CRAP!!!

Seriously, it is your typical summer movie courtesy of Spielberg and Michael Bay. Mindless entertainment with lots of cool special effects. Bumble Bee is a Camero. What?!? I liked Transformers much better than War Of The Worlds (recent Spielberg) but slightly less than The Island (recent Michael Bay).

Some of my favorite lines only because they use the original Optimus Prime voice:

Sam: How Did you guys learn to talk?
Optimus Prime: From The World Wide Web

Sam: How Did you guys find me?
Optimus Prime: Ebay
